Pink Recalls Losing Out on Song “Beautiful” to Christina Aguilera

Pink just gave us a reason... of why everything works out as it should.
The 43-year-old explained why she felt songwriter Linda Perry was justified in giving the 2002 track "Beautiful" to Christina Aguilera, despite wanting the song for herself.
"One great thing about Linda is she will pull perfection out of you," Pink said during an appearance on The Howard Stern Show Feb. 22. "And she did that with Christina. That song ended up where it's suppose to be."
Pink praised the "Genie in a Bottle" singer for making the tune a hit.
"Christina sounded incredible on that song," she continued. "Because Linda will tell you, 'F--k your stupid vibrato.' I sang Phantom of the Opera and Les Misérables. She was like 'No. I want to know how your feel. What hurts. Here is the microphone.'"
The technique worked in Pink's favor, as she wrote her hit "Eventually" using Linda's coaching.
"I didn't even know I had that in me," the Grammy winner confessed. "Linda knew I had that in me."
Pink noted, "She did that with Christina and with that song. It found its home."
And even though the "Try" artist is (still) a rockstar due to her ever-growing catalog of hits, her relationship with Linda was one she called "complicated."
"She always said I burst her bubble and she was so much happier when she was left alone," she shared with host Howard Stern. "And that she never wanted any of this."
Expressing what an inspiration Linda was to her, Pink shard there was moment where she thought, what about us?
"I felt betrayed when she went on to work with everybody else," Pink explained. "Then she became the pop hit maker and I was like, 'No. I thought what we had was special.'"
Singing her praises for Linda, Pink clarified the situation, adding, "She is so talented and she just went on to be all these things. And that was the part that hurt. It had nothing to do with Christina."
However, most recently Pink had to clear the air on a situation that did have to do with the "Dirrty" songstress, after telling BuzzFeed UK that she would rank "Lady Marmalade" in last place on a list 12 of her "most iconic music videos."
"It wasn't very fun to make," she said to the outlet. "I'm all about fun and it was like, a lot of fuss, and there were some personalities."
The comment didn't rub fans the right way, as they assumed she was shading co-star Christina.
"Y'all are nuts," the "Sober" singer tweeted Feb. 18. "Xtina had s--t to do with who was on that song."
And for the people in the back, she added, "If you don't know by now- I'm not 'shading' someone by telling it over and over and over what actually happened. I'm zero percent interested in your f--king drama. If you haven't noticed- I'm a little busy selling...And by selling- I mean tickets and albums and bake sales and s--t."
